chocolatechipcookies bullet2 Sweet Chocolate Chip Cookies

What You Need:

  1. ½ cup butter, softened

  2. 1/3 cup granulated sugar

  3. 1/3 cup brown packed sugar

  4. 1 egg

  5. 1 tbsp water

  6. ½ tsp vanilla extract

  7. 1 ¼ cup all-purpose flour

  8. ½ tsp baking soda

  9. ¼ tsp salt

  10. 8 oz sweet coarsely chipped cooking chocolate

How to Make It:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit

  2. Cream together thoroughly butter and sugars, using electric mixer

  3. Add egg, water and vanilla and beat well

  4. In a separate bowl, stir together flour, baking soda and salt

  5. Blend dry ingredients into creamed mixture

  6. Stir chipped chocolate pieces into batter by hand so they do not get too broken up

  7. Drop from teaspoon 2" apart onto greased cookie sheet

  8. Bake for about 13 minutes.

  9. Cool on racks



bullet2 Oatmeal Chocolate Cookies

What You Need:

  1. 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate pieces, melted

  2. 8 oz cream cheese, softened

  3. ½ cup margarine or butter, softened

  4. 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed

  5. ½ cup granulated sugar

  6. 2 eggs

  7. ½ tsp vanilla

  8. 1 ½ cup all-purpose flour

  9. 1 ½ tsp baking soda

  10. 3 cups Quaker oats, uncooked (quick or old-fashioned)

  11. 1 cup chopped nuts

  12. Powdered sugar (optional)


How to Make It:

  1. Beat together cream cheese, margarine and sugars until creamy

  2. Add eggs and vanilla and beat well

  3. Add melted chocolate and mix well

  4. Add combined flour and baking soda and mix well

  5. Stir in oats and nuts and mix well

  6. Cover and chill at least 1 hour

  7. Heat oven to 350 F

  8. Shape dough into 1-inch balls

  9. Place 3 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet

  10. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until cookies are almost set (Centers should still be moist. Do not overbake.)

  11. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet

  12. Move to wire rack

  13. Cool completely

  14. Sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired


bullet2 Chocolate Covered Strawberries

What You Need:

  1. 1 packet fresh strawberries

  2. 1 packet chocolate bark

How to Make It:

  1. Wash and drain strawberries but leave stems intact

  2. Pat dry with paper towel

  3. Place half of the chocolate in a microwave safe bowl

  4. Microwave on high until melted or approximately 2 minutes

  5. Holding strawberries by the stem, dip one at a time into the chocolate

  6. Gently shake excess and place on waxed paper until firm

  7. If chocolate becomes too thick reheat for a few seconds

For the chocolate basket:

How to Make It:

  1. Cover a dish of desired shape (pie pan) with foil and spray lightly with Pam

  2. Place melted chocolate in a Ziploc bag and seal

  3. Snip a small hole in the corner and drizzle the chocolate to create a basket

  4. Chill until firm

  5. Carefully remove the basket. Place on a serving tray and fill with chocolate covered strawberries


bullet2 Chocolate Cake

What You Need:

  1. 4 oz unsweetened chocolate

  2. 1 cup shortening or ½ lb butter

  3. 2 tsp vanilla

  4. 2 cups cake flour

  5. 2 cups sugar

  6. 1 ½ tsp baking powder

  7. 1 tsp baking soda

  8. 1 tsp salt

  9. 1 cup milk

  10. 4 eggs

How to Make It:

  1. Preheat oven to 350F

  2. In a small, heavy-bottomed pan, melt chocolate and shortening, stirring over low heat until smooth and melted

  3. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla

  4. In large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt

  5. Add chocolate mixture, milk and eggs, beating until smooth

  6. Spread mixture in two greased and floured 9-inch round cake pans

  7. Bake for 30-to-35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center of cake comes out clean

  8. Cool in pans 5 minutes before turning out onto wire rack


bullet2 Hot Chocolate

What You Need:

  1. 2 oz semisweet chocolate, chopped

  2. 1 ½ tbsp sweet butter

  3. ¼ cup whole milk

  4. 1 cup heavy cream

How to Make It:

  1. In a small saucepan, mix everything together

  2. Heat over medium heat gently

  3. When it reaches a boil, stir with a wooden spoon until the chocolate is completely melted

  4. This may take a while as small specks remain till the very end

  5. When chocolate is practically dissolved (that is if only tiny specks remain undissolved), turn down flame and simmer to reduce to very dense, dark brown hot chocolate
