What are the advantages and benefits to homeschooling?
There are many benefits to homeschooling, especially if you are the kind of parents who wants to have complete control over your children. In short, if you are a control freak.
Many parents feel that home schooling is the solution to overcrowded classrooms, overworked and underpaid teachers, insufficient time devoted to a particular subject as well as unsafe and unhygienic environment.

Homeschooling is one way to spend more time with your children. You are at each other's throats day in and day out which means conversation goes beyond '"how was school today" after a tiring day.
You can also monitor your child's progress on a daily basis and construct a programme that meets his individual needs to maximise his potential.
"My son is smarter than yours cause he has me a teacher," is a line you can throw at family gatherings.
You can also make his education an extended family activity by including the rest of the family in field trips and experiments.
In homeschooling, parents teach their children one-on-one. Which means, in the absence of distractions such as a cute classmate or a cheeky friend, your child has no choice but to buckle up.
With so much personal attention and no way to escape, your child may even learn things quicker. Or they can learn at their own pace instead of struggling to catch up with their classmates.
Once you can gauge your child's level, you can further personalise his educational programme. For instance, he may need more time for Maths or is ready for the next level in English. Or if for some reason you feel your child can benefit from a curriculum that includes the history of Star Wars, go for it.
Another one of the benefits to homeschooling is flexibility in time. You can start a class earlier or later, or have more breaks in between. Even if you have to start later than the scheduled time, your child won't miss a lesson since you can always make up for it.
Moreover, you can set your schedule around emergencies and annual vacations. If you are especially masochistic, you can even schedule lessons during vacations. Your child will hate you for it of course, but it's for his own good right?
"Once I finish homeschooling my son, his future wife won't have a chance. I'd always be the one he fears and loves the most." - Controlling mother
With homeschooling, your child won't fall under peer pressure to experiment with drugs, alcohol, gangs, sex with someone from the opposite sex, or sex with someone from his own sex. In fact, if you play your cards right, he'll never leave home. At all.
There's also less risk of him bringing home another kid's germs or lice. Unless he gets the lice from you of course.
As you can see there are many benefits of homeschooling. Although if you were to ask your child, he would probably say the best thing about homeschooling is clean toilets and homecooked meals.
